Having the amazing honor to design a hoodie print for the winter merch collection as well as to contribute one month to the Artivism Calendar 2026 by Sea-Watch I did letterings! The hoodie and the calendar can be bought in Sea-Watch’s online shop and fund sea rescue in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Mediterranean Sea is one of the deadliest refugee routes on Earth, but it’s not only the sea itself that makes crossing it so difficult; it’s the human impact that turns it into this deadly border. The concept of borders being defended at all costs is creeping in from the depths of the sea and opposing rescue efforts. Ultimately, a decision must be made: Do we prioritise saving deadly borders or life-preserving gear?

The sea is cruel when left alone, we all know that. Type and Lettering can convey an incredible amount—it can make us feel things through its design. Restlessness, unease, agitation—a feeling of abandonment, like a sea monster that could devour everything at any moment. The hope of solidarity and the rescue associated with it, on the other hand, above all those who urgently need it: The sea and solidarity as visual antagonists whose struggle envelops those affected.
